CEESA

Established in spring 2018, CEESA is the association of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) students at NSU. All CEE students in good standing are CEESA members. CEESA organizes social and academic events such as professional meeting, seminar, workshop, field trip and social/community services project etc and encourages all members to actively participate in the society events and activities.

In addition to CEESA’s own events and activities, CEESA members also participate in the activities/events/computations organized by other similar associations and educational institutions. Recently, A two-member student team of CEESA has won the first place in a “Truss Bridge Design” competition at the “ExCEEd 2018-SUST CEE Festival” held on Tuesday, October 11, 2018 at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet.

As part of our effort to establish an ASCE student chapter at NSU, a large number of CEESA members have already been affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). “The American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation’s oldest engineering society. ASCE stands at the forefront of a profession that plans, designs, constructs, and operates society’s economic and social engine – the built environment – while protecting and restoring the natural environment.”

CEESA Committee

Since establishment, a group of students, namely Student Representatives, has been taking responsibility to coordinate and organize activities/events of the association. However, an initiative has been taken to form a full executive committee soon.
