NSUAAA Hosts Vice Chancellor at ‘NSU Alumni Iftar’ in Melbourne

NSU Vice Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury joined NSU alumni in Melbourne for the ‘NSU Alumni Iftar – Faith, Fellowship & Flourishing Together,’ organized by NSU Alumni Association Australia (NSUAAA). Held at The Dock, Victoria Harbour, the event celebrated NSU’s growing global alumni network, with guests including Ms. Mahnaaz Khan from Austrade, senior RMIT University officials, and distinguished academics.
The evening began with a congratulatory tribute to Professor Chowdhury for his appointment as NSU Vice Chancellor and Chairman of Grameen Bank. NSUAAA’s vision, structure, and key initiatives were presented, highlighting its commitment to an inclusive alumni network.
 
In his address, Professor Chowdhury shared NSU’s vision for global recognition, highlighting major alumni initiatives such as a dedicated alumni building and a digital alumni platform. Recognizing NSUAAA’s structured approach, he stated: ❝ I am truly impressed with the thought process behind NSUAAA’s vision, mission, and core values. This can serve as a model for other NSU alumni organizations worldwide. ❞ A key highlight was the official launch of NSUAAA’s flagship event by Professor Chowdhury, the ‘NSU Alumni Soiree’, set for August 2, 2025, at St. Kilda Town Hall, promising to unite alumni for an unforgettable evening.
Discussions on student work opportunities and academic collaborations with RMIT further strengthened ties between NSU and Australian institutions.
 
The evening ended with a vibrant iftar and dinner, fostering camaraderie and reinforcing NSUAAA’s commitment to its alumni. This event marked the final stop of the Vice Chancellor’s Australia tour, with NSU’s Office of External Affairs expressing deep gratitude
to NSUAAA for their unwavering support
