NSU Students Excel at EFEC 2025 in Malaysia

Six students from North South University’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences proudly represented Bangladesh at the EduCultural Research Fusion Exchange (EFEC) 2025, hosted by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) from July 22–28, 2025. The week-long program united participants from across Asia in a dynamic mix of academic learning, cultural exchange, and professional networking.

The event began with a vibrant opening ceremony featuring traditional Malaysian performances and team-building activities, fostering early cross-cultural connections. Students toured UKM’s advanced pharmaceutical laboratories, attended lectures on vaccine development and pharmacognosy, and joined hands-on workshops such as cosmetology and high-fidelity clinical simulation.

A visit to the Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) provided first-hand insight into hospital pharmacy practice, digital health systems, and infection control protocols. Participants also explored Malaysian heritage through a cultural workshop, traditional dance performances, and a memorable excursion to historic Melaka.

An industrial visit to Duopharma Biotech Berhad exposed students to world-class pharmaceutical manufacturing standards and GMP-compliant processes. NSU students achieved notable success in competitions—Adik Rahman’s team won the Clinical Skills Event, while Raisa Noor and Oyshi Chowdhury’s team placed second runner-up. Group 2, featuring Adik Rahman, also topped the Public Health Campaign.

The program concluded with a grand Cultural Night at the Adamson Hotel, where NSU participants showcased Bangladesh’s heritage through music and traditional attire, receiving warm applause from an international audience.

EFEC 2025 was a milestone in fostering academic collaboration and cultural understanding, leaving participants inspired and connected beyond borders.
