NIDA International Summer Camp, Thailand: Creative Tourism and Global Leadership for Sustainability

One of the greatest opportunities we received from North South University was the chance to visit the Kingdom of Thailand—a chance to witness its rich history and vibrant culture firsthand. The invitation from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) sparked excitement among many of us, and the advertised events and destinations were too tempting to resist.

From the moment we landed, the hospitality and warmth of the Thai people stood out. Transportation from the airport to our comfortable hotel suites was smooth and well-organized. The very next day, we had an ice-breaking event that allowed us to interact with other participants from Thailand and China in a fun and playful way. It turned out better than expected, and we quickly began forming friendships while learning about each other’s cultures and personal habits.

A major highlight of the summer camp was the series of workshops held at the NIDA campus. These sessions were led by highly qualified professors who gave us valuable insights into global economics and ethics. The food breaks were another treat—filled with generous portions of delicious traditional snacks that felt more like full meals.

Some of the most enjoyable moments included a cooking competition, where we proudly showcased our traditional dishes, and a dinner cruise that was both relaxing and exciting. The trips to Pattaya Beach and various heritage sites added a holiday vibe to the educational experience.

Above all, it was the kindness and friendliness of the staff, organizers, teachers, and fellow participants that made this event truly special. If we ever get another chance to join a summer camp in Thailand, none of us would want to miss it.
