Winter School 2026 (1-Week Program)
🌏 Overview
This is a 1-week version of the the full Winter School program, conducted entirely in English. Through participation in selected portions of the full program, students will explore Osaka’s history, culture, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Note: This 1-week version does not include the optional Introductory Japanese Course.

Kansai University Winter School 2026 (2-Week Program)

Kansai University, one of Japan’s leading private universities with over 130 years of history, invites North South University students to join the Winter School 2026 (2-week program) titled:
“Learning Osaka, the Mercantile Capital of Japan.”
This program offers an immersive opportunity to explore Osaka’s vibrant history, unique business culture, and entrepreneurial spirit. Students will learn from experienced faculty, engage in interactive sessions, and participate in field visits to iconic cultural and corporate sites.
All courses are conducted in English.

📘 Course Features
Main Course: “Learning Osaka, the Mercantile Capital of Japan”
Students will study the business, cultural, and social dimensions of Osaka through lectures, discussions, and excursions.
Topics include:
Introduction to Osaka’s history and development
Japanese business culture and etiquette
Entrepreneurship in Osaka (case studies: Panasonic, Nissin Foods, Hankyu Railways, etc.)
Field trips to notable institutions such as the Cup Noodles Museum and Osaka Museum of Housing and Living
Optional Course: “Survival Japanese Language with Cultural Experience”
An introductory Japanese course for beginners focusing on practical communication, basic expressions, and hands-on cultural experiences like food sample making and traditional arts.
🧳 Accommodation
Participants will stay in a student dormitory or apartment within commuting distance of Kansai University.
Facilities include:
Single or shared room
Bed, bedding, air-conditioning, bathroom, and Wi-Fi
Shared kitchen and lounge
Meals are not included, except for welcome and farewell parties.
Homestay options may also be arranged based on availability.

🧠 Eligibility
Undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled and have completed at least 3 semesters at North South University.
- CGPA minimum 3.00
All lectures are conducted in English.
Recommended English proficiency: CEFR B2 (IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL iBT 72) or higher.

🧭 Application Process (for NSU Students)
All applications must be submitted through the Office of External Affairs (OEA), North South University.

Submit required documents (CV).
Attend a short interview conducted by OEA.
Selected candidates will be officially nominated to Kansai University.
Accepted students will receive an Acceptance Letter and payment instructions.
💡 For this program, invoices will be sent directly to each selected student after application confirmation.
🧩 Evaluation & Certification
Students are evaluated on participation, assignments, and presentations. Grades follow Kansai University’s S–F scale, and successful participants receive:

Intensive Japanese Language & Culture Course (IJLC)
🌏 Overview
IJLC offers an immersive Japanese language and cultural learning experience. Students engage in Japanese language classes, cultural activities, and conversation practice with Kansai University students.

Capacity: Up to 45 participants
Expenses: Program fee will be JPY 70,000 ( Without accommodation). If participants choose to include accommodation, the program fee will be JPY 150,000. Meals and Transportation are not included in the program fee and must be covered by participants. Other expenses will depend on how participants choose to spend their free days.

OSIP Short-term Career Development Program
🌏 Overview
The OSIP (Osaka Social Impact Project) Short-term Career Development Program is a 7-day program that brings together international and Japanese students to explore careers in Japan. It includes interactive workshops, corporate visits, and cultural exchange. Pre-program online learning is included to build understanding of Japan’s work culture.
