A Journey of Personal Growth and Cultural Discovery: An NSU Student’s Reflection on the O.P. Jindal (JGU) Semester Exchange Experience

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), India, recently welcomed four outstanding BBA students from North South University (NSU) as part of a vibrant semester exchange program: Shifatun Nahar, Jawad Araf Khan, Md. Abdullah Al Amin, and Syed Raisul Islam Rafi. The initiative offered a dynamic blend of academic enrichment, cultural immersion, and personal growth.

A Student’s Perspective: Syed Raisul Islam Rafi Reflects

Syed Raisul Islam Rafi described his time at JGU as transformative:

“Academically, JGU offered a refreshing change from what I was used to at NSU. The educational methods emphasized critical thinking and global viewpoints. One course on negotiation skills really pushed me beyond traditional paradigms.”

He highlighted the diversity of the classroom, where students from across India and around the world enriched discussions with varied perspectives. This multicultural environment fostered deeper learning and broadened his worldview.

Beyond academics, Rafi found the cultural experience equally rewarding:

“Living in India and being immersed in its culture was eye-opening. The warmth and hospitality of the people at JGU made me feel at home. Participating in festivals and cultural events helped me appreciate the richness of Indian traditions and their similarities with Bangladeshi culture.”

The sense of community on campus stood out as a defining feature of the exchange. From student clubs and guest lectures to casual gatherings at the cafeteria, every moment contributed to a vibrant and inclusive student life.

Building Bridges Through Exchange

The NSU–JGU semester exchange program exemplifies the power of international education to foster cross-cultural understanding, academic excellence, and lifelong friendships. As Rafi concluded:

“My time at JGU was more than just an academic exchange. It was a journey of personal growth and cultural discovery.”
